Frequently Asked Questions

Please note that the following questions are applicable in a more general sense to all the treks/tours offered by Alchemy Travels P.Ltd. If you have questions that are not answered below or in the Trip Notes, please contact us and we will respond shortly.

Since we have specific departure dates for our treks/tours, this means the ideal time has been chosen for the trek/tour. We make sure to choose trek dates that afford you with the ideal weather situation and safe hiking conditions. However, mountain weather is at best unpredictable so we can not guarantee the conditions during your actual time of travel. In general, our treks occur during spring, summer and fall seasons.

Travel insurance with medical and emergency evacuation coverage are required for all the trekking and tours.  Insurance is recommended for the safari trips, altitude trekking. You can book your own insurance or request us for our assistance. 

The State Department's website for the US citizens OR your own country’s website is the go-to source for checking on the latest status of visa requirements for the country you are visiting. Normally, it is required that your passport does not expire for at least 6 months at the time of entry and that you have a few blank pages in your passport. Please note for all the treks/tours, you will be responsible for obtaining your visa to enter the country so it is best to check as early as possible.Normally, Nepal offers visa upon arrival at the airport.

Please check the Center for Disease Control website for up-to-date vaccination/health requirements for the country you are visiting.

A detailed gear list specific to each trek/tour will be emailed to you upon booking your trips with us.

A combination of cash, debit and credit card would be best. Traveler's checks are more of a hassle as you will need to go to a local bank in the country you are traveling to, during business hours.

Internet is highly common these days and so it is easy to stay connected with friends/family.Make sure to bring a cell phone/tablet that would connect you to wifi. Accommodations are mostly in a hostel or simple guest house which most often provides wifi connection. It is also possible to buy a sim card at your destination if you wish to be able to use data, voice and text features. You can also check with your cell phone carrier if international roaming is included. For instance, T-Mobile's Simple Plan includes a list of over 100 countries where international roaming is free which includes unlimited data and incoming SMS/text messages.

It varies depending on the country although it truly comes down to the client's satisfaction. Guides, assistant guides, porters, cooks, and drivers are among the people that you will typically on your trip.

For every trek/tour, any relevant local customs will be noted for the participants under the Trip Notes section.

With a guided tour/trek, there should not be an issue with communicating in English;however, in the country itself, English can be limited especially in the mountain regions.

To save on flights, booking by using miles with any of the major airlines is the way to go. The second-best option is to book your flight through Peak Explorations if the minimum number of people for a group discount is met.

Contact your credit card company to advise them of your travel plans so that you are able to use your card without any hassles. Register your name with the U.S. embassy before departure. Bring at least 3 copies of your passports with you. Leave an itinerary with a trusted loved one.

PRICE:

All the prices quoted are as per your choice as selected on the system at the time of submission and are correct but are subject to change without prior notice. As many components of tour packages are not Alchemy Travels owned property, it may be due to taxes system, hike on flight price and other any reason which are beyond control of Alchemy Travels. 

REFUND:

All the tour & land arrangements which may be guaranteed are subject to Alchemy Travels inability to provide the same as result of act of Government or such authorities, civil disturbances, strike as a result of any other causes beyond Alchemy Travel’s control. Alchemy Travels shall incur no liability to provide any services confirmed if such inability is due to, any of the cause listed above and no refund shall be made on the part or full payments received by us.  

TURN AWAY:

In the unlikely event, the Hotel / Resort Safari camp booked is unable to accommodate reconfirmed reservation for whatsoever reason, the properties as booked shall undertake the responsibility of accommodating the business in alternative property of equal ranking as far as possible. Any extra expenses incurred during this process is not the responsibility of Alchemy Travels. Alchemy Travels will of course help in this process to the best of its ability taking the interest of principles in mind.

DEPOSITS:

Reservation of hotel & other tour land arrangement are confirmed by Alchemy Travels subject to receipt of deposits. Advance payment of 50% of the total tour-land costs including Hotel must be received by Alchemy Travels at the time-of-service confirmation. Complete payment is to be made before 15 days unless prior credit arrangements have been made with us.

RESERVATIONS:

Reservations may be made through online system/ e-mail, stating the services required. We take the undertaking process for this reservation and duly confirm the arrangements. The final reconfirmation is required as per the schedule under “Naming & Rooming list”.

CREDIT POLICY:

Tour operators or travel agents interested in getting credit facilities from Alchemy Travels should make an application which shall be reviewed and the decision duly intimated to the applicant.

COMPLIMENTARY POLICY:

For all the land tour arrangement, we will provide you one person complimentary on tour plan, for every 15 paying full guest in a tour. Complimentary or discount accommodation shall be made on a twin sharing basis not in a single occupancy basis.

TRIP CANCELLATION POLICY:

The trip cancellation policy applies as follows:

-30 days prior to Arrival 25 % of the tour/Trekking cost.

-29 – 15 days prior to departure 35% of the tour/Trekking cost

-14 to 7 days prior to departure 45% of the tour/Trekking cost.

-6 days or less – 60% of total tour/Trekking cost

-3 days or less - 70% of total tour/Trekking cost

-24 hrs or Less - No refund

Note:  The above cancellation rules may not be applied on various tours/ individual services booking where no show rules are in effect as- as flight, hotel booking services, Tibet and Bhutan Tour, please kindly reconfirm cancellation and refund policy with us at the time of booking. Our cancellation policy applies in every instance. There will be no exception for any reasons therefore we strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance. This low-cost insurance protects all deposits and payments should you have to cancel your trip due to personal or family illness. Should you or anyone in your choice purchase this insurance, please deal directly with the insurance company. Baggage and accident insurance are also available.

EXTRA COSTS:

Round trip airfares from your starting location and back, some city meals, passport and visa fees, tips for guides and trek staff, any medical check-ups, treatment, evacuation and immunization, insurance of any kind, excess baggage charges, airport taxes and any other items of a personal nature are not included in land costs.

AIRLINE CLAUSE:

The airlines are not to be held responsible for any act of omission or event during the time passengers is not on board their planes or conveyances. The passenger contract in use by the airline, when issued shall constitute the sole contract between such purchase of these tours and or passenger. Such contracts are subject to the laws of the countries involved.

YOUR FINAL AGREEMENT:

By making reservations with Alchemy Travels or its associates and depositing your advance payment with us, our agents or representatives, you agree to each of the foregoing terms and conditions and agree that you are thereby bound. You also acknowledge that you have carefully read and understood the foregoing terms and conditions.

After advance payment of your trips, it is considered that you accept and agreed our terms and conditions.
